Fantasy Football Week 6 Quick Hits

Below is a quick recap for some of the players who played Sunday October 15.

Robert Griffin III: I was very conservative about him in my rankings because I thought he had a higher propensity for injury and his game would lack his normal upside due to a potential lack of running. I was 100% wrong. RG3 is a must start for every game the rest of the year.

Shonn Greene: If you forecasted a big day for Greene you should be on TV with Matthew Berry. I do not see this type of performance or even 60% of this performance happening on a semi-recurring basis. With the next 6 games against the Patriots (2 games), Rams, Seahawks, and Cardinals this is a perfect opportunity to sell high and find the missing piece for your team.

A.J. Green: I had Green lower in my rankings because I thought Hayden would limit his upside. I was 100% wrong. Other than Calvin Johnson (Megatron) he is the most physically gifted receiver in the NFL. Like RG3 he has become matchup proof and must start every week.

Dez Bryant: There’s no question about it, he is a physical beast. However, at the end of the 4th quarter he dropped the game tying 2 point conversion when the ball was perfectly thrown at the numbers. I think this is why his ceiling is limited as a real life player. In terms of fantasy, there are going to be days like this where he blows up and Miles Austin has a mediocre day. There will be days where the production is reversed. You’re going to have to start him every week and hope for the best.

Jamaal Charles: His talent is legit. However, his team is not. In fact, the Chiefs are the worst team in football. I never thought I would say this, but where is Matt Cassel when you need him? The Chiefs are going to get blown out a lot and when that happens the coaching staff takes him out of the game, which has been the case in every blow out this year. However, if he continues to have poor games he becomes a great buy low candidate because starting in week 14 he plays the Browns, Raiders and Colts, which is just in time for the fantasy playoffs.

Alex Smith: I’m giving him a mulligan. Only he knows how much his sprained middle finger effected his play. Colin Kaepernick is becoming more involved in the offense each week. It doesn’t take a gypsy to read the tea leaves here. The offense that was assembled in the offseason was designed to make the offense more vertical. But that’s not Alex Smith’s game. But it is Kapernick’s game. That clearly evident at the end of 2nd quarter he threw a 36 yard laser to Mario Manningham to setup a field goal. If Kaepernick becomes the starting quarterback he is a top 12 quarterback.
